Bang Tao is one of the most developed resort areas on Phuket’s west coast. It lies in Choeng Thale, between Surin and Layan, and combines a long beachfront with residential projects, villas, the Laguna Phuket resort, restaurants, shops and everyday infrastructure. The area suits more than holidays: supermarkets, cafes, medical services, sports clubs and international schools are close by, so property here is bought both to live in and to rent out. The choice runs from modern condominiums and resort-style apartments to pool villas and premium residences.
Bang Tao beach runs for several kilometres along the west coast. Its stretches differ noticeably in character: restaurants and beach clubs cluster near the centre of the area, while towards the north the development thins out. The length of the shoreline lets you choose between projects close to the sea and quieter blocks further inland in Choeng Thale.
An important part of the area is Laguna Phuket, a large integrated resort complex with hotels, residential property, restaurants, green areas and a golf club. A separate residential cluster has grown around it: condominiums, residences and villas across different price levels.
These are among the main centres of everyday life here: restaurants, cafes, shops, supermarkets and services. Because of them most daily errands can be handled within Bang Tao and Choeng Thale, without driving to Phuket Town or other parts of the island.
Bang Tao sits in the northern part of the west coast and is closer to the international airport than many popular areas in the south of the island. The actual travel time depends on traffic and on which part of the area you are in. This location suits owners who fly to Phuket regularly.

These areas have different characters. Patong is known for its dense tourist infrastructure and nightlife. Kamala is more compact and built around a single bay. Bang Tao covers a longer stretch and combines the beach, the Laguna Phuket resort cluster, the residential quarters of Choeng Thale, restaurants, shops and a wide choice of modern property.
A foreigner may own an apartment in a registered condominium provided Thai law is complied with and foreign quota is available. Under the Condominium Act, the combined share of apartments owned by foreigners is limited to 49% of the total apartment area in a given condominium. Some projects also offer other ownership structures, including leasehold. We verify the terms for the specific unit and contract before any deposit is paid.
There is no single price for the area. It depends on the project, the size, the floor, the view, the distance to the sea, the construction stage, the specification and the form of ownership. Beyond the price per square metre it is worth weighing the payment terms, the running costs, the facilities of the project and the likely rental demand. Current offers are collected in the cards on this page.
